Optimizing our enrollment management is crucial to IUPUI’s long-term viability, as there are several factors that influence a student’s college choice, academic success, retention and timely graduation. These factors include the availability and quality of desired degree programs, the affordability and return-on-investment of a college education, the distribution of merit scholarships and need-based financial aid programs, flexible course availability, informed and timely progress toward degree completion, the opportunities and support programs provided to students in pursuit of their degree and the overall learning, employment and other outcomes realized because of college education.
The shift in AY 2014-2015 from Enrollment Services to Enrollment Management has elevated the role of the Division to exert more influence over student enrollment while working towards a comprehensive strategic enrollment plan to better manage the entire student lifecycle. The Division of Enrollment Management (DEM) has developed a data-informed, market-based enrollment plan for the campus of IUPUI (Indianapolis, Columbus, and Fort Wayne) that includes the tracking of enrollment and completion goals.
The strategic enrollment plan reflects various organizational groups created within the Division of Enrollment Management by aligning Goal 4: Optimize our Enrollment Management – to develop continued strategic enrollment management expertise that expands our reach, builds enrollments, retains students and increases degree attainment to support IUPUI’s Strategic Plan, which was launched in 2014. This strategic enrollment plan carries us through June 30, 2022.
